RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a seasoned Fractional Head of HR / People & Culture to help build the people foundations for our fast-moving, globally distributed business in the agricultural commodities trading and dairy food sector.
This is not a traditional BAU HR role. We need a senior operator who can step in quickly, assess the current state, and design the structure, processes and people rhythms required for the next phase of growth. The company is relocating its head office from New Zealand to Singapore and will be relocating and onboarding new members of the leadership team in Singapore, so this role will play a key part in helping the business transition smoothly while strengthening organisational clarity, consistency and culture across regions.
The successful candidate does not need direct experience in agricultural commodities or dairy food, but they must have strong experience building fit-for-purpose HR and people frameworks in small to mid-sized, multi-country businesses. They should be highly practical, commercially minded and comfortable operating hands-on across both strategy and execution.
Key priorities will include:
• Reviewing and optimising the company’s HRIS- HiBob platform
• Reviewing, Creating and embedding core HR processes
• Designing compensation structures and review frameworks
• Establishing talent review and performance rhythms
• Helping the leadership team build a cohesive people and culture model that can support a globally dispersed workforce.
The expert will work closely with leadership to create clarity around people policies, accountabilities, manager capability, talent planning and employee experience. They should be confident navigating ambiguity, able to work across time zones, and skilled at building scalable systems that are right-sized for a business of 50+ employees.
Deliverable(s)
• Build understanding and competence in our GDT Clear (Requisite Organisation) Operating Model and Organisational Structure and use this as the founding guide to establish the HR support frameworks across the business
• Audit the existing HiBob setup and recommend/configure improvements for stronger adoption, workflow automation, reporting and lifecycle management
• Build a practical HR operating framework suited to a 50+ person global business
• Develop a compensation philosophy and supporting compensation review process, including salary bands / benchmarking approach where appropriate
• Build a fit-for-purpose performance and feedback cadence, including manager check-ins, review cycles and documentation templates
• Review and refresh core people policies, processes and templates to support a distributed international team
• Support leadership onboarding and people integration linked to the head office move to Singapore
• Establish manager guidance and decision-making frameworks for hiring, performance, development and team design
Work Cadence
Weekly leadership check-in |. Fortnightly working session with key business stakeholders | Monthly people and culture progress review with leadership | Availability for ad hoc advisory support on priority people matters | Participation in key leadership and planning sessions as required during setup phase

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong senior HR / People leadership capability with a build-from-scratch mindset
• Demonstrated experience creating scalable HR processes and frameworks, not just advising at a high level

• Comfortable working across Singapore, New Zealand and Europe time zones
• Able to support a globally distributed workforce with practical, right-sized systems
